Voice: Identity, Presence, Passion
Directed by Kevin Crawford, Susanne Weins and Sašo Vollmaier(Teachers of the Roy Hart Voice Centre) with the collaboration of Caroline Boersma (Musician)
A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM OF EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE VOICE IN BOTH ITS ARTISTIC AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT DIMENSIONS
We offer an in-depth immersion in vocal development rooted in the groundbreaking work of Alfred Wolfsohn and Roy Hart, and enriched by four practitioners: Kevin Crawford, Susanne Weins, Sašo Vollmaier (Teachers from the Roy Hart Voice Centre) and Caroline Boersma (musician). It is designed to help participants explore, develop, and express their vocal identity while cultivating a discerning, deep way of listening to others.
Our approach is interdisciplinary, anchoring expression in somatic sensibility and situating sound in its artistic, musical, physical, and human dimensions. Personal development and artistic curiosity proceed together; profound vocal discoveries can fuel transformation and creative synergy, opening the way to expression in performance.
The program comprises a series of six intensive sessions lasting 9 days each followed by two online seminars (depending on venue and content). A subsequent series of three sessions may be offered to participants who wish to integrate this work into their artistic or teaching practice. The venues for the sessions will rotate between Italy, France and Germany, exposing us to diverse cultures and traditions.
We believe many individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds; artists, teachers, therapists, managers and health professionals as well as a wider public - have been inspired and influenced by the Wolfsohn/Hart philosophy and approach to voice. Some wish to strengthen and consolidate those experiences into something lasting. They seek to embody the work more fully so it informs their lives and creative practice: gradually making it their own. This program offers a pathway to fulfil that aspiration.
The program is open to anyone who has encountered voicework through the Roy Hart Voice Centre or a recognised teacher, and to interdisciplinary artists seeking to deepen their vocal expression. It also invites applicants who wish to explore their own voice within a supportive group setting-whether motivated professionally or personally.
